I'm interested in some resources that cater to growing bonsai in the tricky climate of Colorado. I've been growing for a year or so but would like to start to expand my collection of trees. Hoping I can get some good guidelines for how things differ here in Colorado as compared to the general 'how to care for bonsai' guides you see on the web.
My trees survived their first winter, but I've found that the intense heat and dryness of the start of summer has added a layer of complexity to keeping trees happy and health. I'm planning on putting up a 30% shadecloth for all my trees during these hot months to get started.
Thanks!
Hi John,
I'm working on a resource for this purpose as well. I'll let you know as soon as it's available.
Also, reach out to Darrell Whitley. I'll have to look for his email, but he is a RMBS member in Fort Collins with many years of experience.
