I took some new photos of my Picea Pungens – Colorado Blue Spruce Bonsai #2 tree. I changed the planting angle just a bit and it made a big difference. I love this tree. I will be forever grateful to Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society member Jerry Morris for this magnificent tree. I see Jerry’s face in this tree every time I look at it, which is often. Sometimes I just go visit it and marvel at its ruggedness much like how Jerry lived his life full of one adventure after another.

Mike I hope you'll keep us in the know as this one evolves. Great tree. Personally I like the "newer" trunk as a deadwood feature that can gain interest over time.
I have placed the tree into a Sara Rayner pot the other day. I think the pot goes well with the tree. I am not satisfied with the foliage just yet and plan to tinker some more with it latter this year. I am thinking about removing the "Newer" large deadwood trunk on the upper right of the tree. Newer means that trunk died about 4 years ago. I shortened it back to where it is in the photo.
No I do not have a pot planned yet. I liked the pot Larry Jackel's spruce was planted in at the show. Have not found one big enough. The tree is actually over planted I hope in a large plastic tub. So I do not know what the root structure looks like. I probably will try to repot it into something a lot smaller in the spring and then concentrate on finding the appropriate pot based on the roots. Right now this is a very heavy tree to lug around. Its a wheel barrel tree for sure! I did see an European pot I liked a lot for the tree, but its very expensive and then it might not work out because of the roots. I should save the photos and perhaps they could make a pot for it? Something manly to match Jerry's and the trees stature!
Wow!! Do you have a pot planned for it yet?
