About the event
This is a kusamono show for RMBS members, organized by Larry Jackel, Mike Britten, and Samantha Holm. Members will be able to register up to 3 kusamonos per person using a google form. The space available and the number of displays submitted will determine how many kusamono we will be able to accept. Kusamonos will be dropped off on the 20th, and picked up on the 29th (times TBD). Larry will water the kusamonos while they are at the Gardens.
What are Kusamono?
Kusamono is an ancient Japanese botanical art form of living arrangements of wild grasses and flowers. These compositions are artistic representations of landscapes, suggesting a particular place in nature such as a prairie, wetland, or mountain top. A well-composed kusamono will also reflect the seasons by containing plants that flower or fruit throughout the year. If given proper care and winter protection these small living works of…
