Hey there and thanks for the info in advance, I have been getting into the art of bonsai lately and have spent the last few weeks wiring small saplings of Douglas firs and Ponderosa pine trees in my yard. I know that the Ponderosas have the Rhizomes amongst the roots and there for you do not want to clean the roots to much when collecting, and that spring is a better time of year to collect. Is this the same for Douglas Firs? I have not been able to find quite as much info on them. Most of these trees that I have wired in my yard are under 1 foot tall and seem to be fairly young.
