Today I discovered some white web-like substance on one of my trees (See pics below). Is something to be concerned about? If so, what should I do about it?
Looks like a spider web to me. Take a wet paper towel and wipe it off and see if it comes back. Might be a small spider down in the crack to. If so evict it.
As small a tree as it is, if it did have spider mites, mix 50% rubbing alcohol and 50% water in a spray bottle and spray the whole tree including the soil and pot. Do it three days in a row, it should kill them off with out using a poison of any kind. The only problem with this is it is hard to find rubbing alcohol now.
HAHA! Makes too much sense, 😉 . I will definitely give that a try and see what happens before I do anything else.
I'm glad I haven't tried anything else yet.
Another forum told me it's probably spider mites and sent me looking for "miticide." Luckily I asked around some more and found soapy water should work IF that's the case. So, I have that as an alternative option if need be.

Cheers!
I agree with Mike. Likely a spider living inside the cut site.
