A ficus I bought years ago with the dreaded S curve. I tried various positions and looks and none were satisfactory.
So I decided on this position. The vertical branch on top needs more development. I wired it up to let it grow because it was a small branch. I think it needs to be shortened a bit and more rounded with a bit more branching to the right.
Thoughts?

David,
Great solution to the S-curve! And Charlie, I do think that drawing is right on point.
David, I had one of these S-curve ficus also... Two additional thoughts: push the low branch down for the full cascade -or- do like I did and cut all the branches off one summer. This will allow for a total reset if you're not happy with the current placement.
Here is a little sketch incorporating the suggestions and filling out over time.
I like the trunk the way it us, move end of first branch on the left down more, move 2nd branch down more, create round top apex after you finished growing the top out. I like your tree, good start.
