Help, I’m a bonsai newbie. I purchased my bonsai about two years ago from a nursery that has since gone out of business. I want to identify my bonsai with a view to repotting as he does not seem to be as healthy as he could be of late. Many thanks.
I agree with MCPeters. cut off the dead stuff. Spray what is left wit 50% water and 50% rubbing alcohol for 3 days in a row. For spider mites. Spray everything foliade trunk, potn under pot, You will have to this in a regular basis. best to keep in garage for winter if you can.
That looks like a procumbens juniper. The foliage looks stressed. Is it still pliable or is it crispy? If it is crispy it is dead. Are you keeping it indoors? Junipers need dormancy from cold each year or they decline. It is best to over winter them some place where they get cold. Not necessarily frozen, but temperatures below 40 degrees.
