After struggling through this past summer with 90-degree days and low humidity, I decided to build a bench that offers some protection from the intense Colorado sun. Since we really cannot go anywhere these days and late fall/winter is a slow time for bonsai, I used some downtime to create this display bench. We have a small side yard, so I had to make something custom to fit in our space. After searching different forums and sites I landed on the bench below (which is a mashup of several designs). The top-level is set back to allow light to reach the second tier. I’m excited to see how it works this spring.
