I am having trouble with online BCI Magazine and renewing a membership. I renewed 6 days ago and they have not renewed my membership. Worse yet the website appears to be infested with viruses. The membership inquiry page gives out an error when hitting the submit button. All email buttons for board members results in your computer being attacked multiple times by a virus. I clicked on the Home page and was attacked by a virus.
I recommend staying away from them until its fixed. I am not sure they even know about it. So if you have someway to contact them, please do so as I don't.
It appears the BCI website is not always a secure website. Hackers can gain control of the site when this happens and send a virus present to us users. I am now in contact with the BCI webmaster and have sent her information showing the problem, yet it is secure a few minutes latter. That might explain why it worked for some people and not other who were attacked. Stay tuned. That little padlock on Chrome browsers to the left of the url shows it to be a secure website with encryption. If it un-locked then it is not secure/encrypted and your information can be seen or your computer can be attacked.
Its not my computer, I have my own website and up to date virus protection which is why I know its hacked. Some of the pages do work correctly. A club member is contacting them for me. I am not the best person to discuss the benefits of belonging to BCI? Perhaps some one else can answer your question?
@Mike Horine I checked the site via a secure VPN ane it seemed to be fine. So, they’ve either fixed it, or the problem might be on your machine. might Be a good idea to make sure you’re in the clear either way.
Then, I’m curious about the benefits of BCI membership. Is it just for the magazine?
